MUSIC FROM A DYING STAR
Client: National Observatory of Japan / Agency: PARTY / Creative Direction, Fabrication, and Electronics
The ALMA Music Box is a device that plays the music of a dying star.
Created to help raise awareness of the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) telescope, the music box plays discs made from radio signal data captured by the telescope from a star called R Sculptoris, 950 light-years away. The resulting somber melody is our requiem to the distant dying star.
